Post holidays, cotton remains subdued

Market emerged after the Ramadan Holiday, and imparted positive effects on the turnover of the Izmir Bourse this week.

Between November 7-8, Izmir Bourse's trade reached 1,075 tons. STD 1 RG 1-1/8" sold at 1.90 lira per kilogram, or around 63.44 US cents per pound, under cash payment terms.

Seven-day payment drew in 1.93 lira per kilogram. Taris Co-op sold STD 1 RG 1-1/2 at 2.05 lira per kilogram, or around 68.45 US cents per pound.

With Adana styles trading at 1.50 lira per kilogram, or around 50.09 US cents per pound, private trade looks weaker.

Cukobirlik Co-op purchased 74,289 tons of seed cotton from November 8 and reflects slide of 28,252 tons over last season.
