To stem the rise in clothing prices, Argentina plans to lower textile tariffs, announced a senior official.
Increase in prices of textile materials and goods fuelled the consumer price rise, said Patricia Vaca Narvaja, Argentine government Under-secretary in charge of Consumer Protection.
Clothing prices in October went up 3.8 percent from September, pushing garments prices to a peak 11.1 percent, topping even the levels prevailing at the start of the year.
Concerned government departments are looking for measures to cut down tariffs to contain the rising prices of textile products, she added.
