Mr A B Joshi, Textile Commissioner spoke of the support the govt is providing to the segment - 4 centre of Excellence have already been established to look at the needs of Medical textiles, Protective textiles, Agro tech and Geo Textiles. He heartly congratulated the members for the formation of ITTA. In addition to this there are special budgetary support is also been provided.
Mr Chalke an Industry veteran spoke of the need for legislative support to boost the sector.
Mr Mody – Technical Director Entremonde Polycoaters Ltd and a person with a more than 40 years of experience in the sector – very difficult for him to come – but would not miss this momentous event for the industry.
He spoke about the industry's challenge of creating availability and affordability of its products. He also mentioned that technical textiles is a convergence of various streams of knowledge like textiles, chemicals, polymers and this convergences leads to diverse applications like geo textiles, medical textiles, ....
An association like ITTA he felt is of paramount importance in converging all these branches of Knowledge.
Mr Kusumgar –one of the stalwarts of the segment likened technical textiles in India to a sleeping volcano whose time has come to burst out and he is of the firm belief that Technical textiles are the future of textiles in India.
Mr Mukesh Vijaywargi in his concept presentation brought about the similarity between NASSCOM and ITTA and modified the original NASSCOM vision of ROTI KAPADA MAKAN BIJLI AND BAND WIDTH to AN ITTA VISION OF ROTI KAPADA MAKAN AB TECHNICAL TEXTILES KE SATH.
