Rapid momentum drives Hubei textile industry

The Hubei textile industry maintained a rapid growth momentum in the first quarter of this year; the industry achieved 7.59 billion Yuan of total industrial added value from January to March, up 27 percent year on year.
The steep increase in viscose fiber prices drove a strong rebound in production. Chemical fiber production reached 34,700 tons, an increase of 85.4 percent. Garment industry completed added value of 2.36 billion Yuan, up 27.1 percent year on year.
Cotton textile industry too did not lag behind. Yarn output registered 221,000 tons, up 23.7 percent year on year and fabric output recorded 551 million meters, up 33.5 percent year on year.
