Goa looks upon the Commonwealth Games (CWG) to be organized in October this year, as an excellent opportunity to market the state's handicraft before the world, as also it aims to cash on the advent of the foreign visitors and sportspersons visiting the country's capital for the event.

Recently, the Goa Handicrafts, Rural and Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (GHRSSIDC) even launched its promotional materials in the form of brochures, leaflets and maps, which would mark their presence at every metro station in Delhi.

Nikhil Desai, Managing Director GHRSSIDC avers that, they eye the event as an apt opportunity to present and promote their state's handicrafts abroad.

He further said that, he was quite sure that the extensive promotional efforts during the run up and the main event would give a major boost to the Corporation's online portal vending handicraft items. During the games, 30,000 maps and 20,000 pamphlets will be distributed in all.
