Core group to oversee issue of CoO

The Ministry of Commerce and Supplies has taken a decision of creating a core group to resolve the matter of issuing Certificates of Origin (CoO).
The fight is on between the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) for the authority to issue CoO.
The Ministry took this decision in a meeting held regarding the issuance of CoO. The projected core group will oversee the issue of CoO, which will include representatives of FNCCI, CNI and NCC under the co-ordination of the ministry.
The commodity associations, including, the Federation of Handicraft Associations Nepal, the Central Carpet Association of Nepal, the Association of Nepalese Rice, Oil and Pulses Industry, as well as other district chambers such as the Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Mechi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Sunsari District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Morang Industrial Organization have also demanded the government to offer them the authority of issuance of CoOs.
