The Chinese government is going to lower export rebate rate of two categories of product manufacturing; namely high-energy consumption and high pollution creating products, with an aim to limit exports of these products.
An official responsible of the relevant government department in the Ministry of Finance confirmed the possibility of introduction of this initiative.
The cut in export rebate rate does not mean that China will tighten foreign trade policy; it is to support the suppression policy of national excess capacity. However, the textile and clothing industries are not in the list of adjustments.
