After being closed for about 15 years, O'odua Textile Mills, Ado-Ekiti is likely to see resumption, since an Israeli company, 'FBE Solution Providers' is planning to revive mills in cooperation with Ekiti State government.
To revitalize the textile industry, this foreign company is sourcing funds from the international community. It would also make investments in other major industries in the state like tourism, security, education, health, agriculture, hospitality and mining.
Thousands of people in the state will receive jobs through such revitalization of textile mills, said Kingsley Ade Ogunmiloyo, who is the facilitator of the deal and a senatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti Central Senatorial District.
Ekiti is full of natural and mineral resources, which could make it an industrial and tourist hub, stated Roy Shaposhnik, Chief Executive Officer of FBE Solution Providers, while addressing a press conference in Ado-Ekiti.
FBE, which belongs to a large firm in the UK, has established various hotels, sewage systems and oil installations across the world, added Shaposhnik. The company has been talking to its partners around the globe, regarding revival of textile mills.
