In the Asian markets, benzene rose by US $5 from the previous day, and closed at between $775-778/ ton (FOB Korea).
While in the Chinese domestic market, prices declined marginally. Market price in East China, South China and North China stood at 6,100-6,200 Yuan / ton.
A marginal rise in overseas prices have had limited influence on the Chinese benzene market, as oil price continues to decline.
Along with this, upstream and downstream sectors are mainly carrying out contracts or consuming raw material inventories bought in earlier time.
Market sentiment in East China is in downturn, prices are slipping down. Market participants expect that short-term benzene market is likely to have a small correction.
