An outage took place in ExxonMobil's downstream polyolefin plant in Singapore in the first week of July, which led to shutdown of the 600,000 tons per annum polyethylene (PE) plant and 405,000 tons per annum polypropylene (PP) plant.
The two plants are a part of the integrated refinery and petrochemicals complex of ExxonMobil, located in Jurong Island. A few of the plants at the complex had undergone a planned maintenance turnaround beginning from May.
According to Karen Wong, spokesperson at the Singapore based office of ExxonMobil Asia Pacific, who spoke to fibre2fashion, “The outage that took place in early July is over and we are working to optimize polyethylene production at the Singapore plant to meet our customers' needs”.
