Govt imposes final antidumping duty on Chinese fabrics

Argentine Ministry of Industry issued a notice on July 22, 2010, announcing final anti-dumping ruling on plain and twill filament woven fabrics (also known as polyester filament woven fabrics) originating in China, it ruled the minimum off-shore price of the products concerned was US $17.6 / kg.
If importers declare the price to Customs less than this level, they will be levied tariffs according to the reference price. The period of validity is five years.
On January 6, 2009, the Ministry of Economy of Argentina launched anti-dumping investigation on plain and twill filament woven fabric imports from China and Brazil, Customs Codes of the products concerned are 54076100 and 54076900.
The Argentine Ministry made preliminary ruling on September 4, 2009 and decided to impose provisional measures of minimum FOB limit at US $17.60/ kg on the products concerned, with a validity period of four months.
Argentine government has adopted a series of restrictions on products imported from China in recent years. The bilateral trade between China and Argentina amounted to US $8.829 billion in 2009, which is down by 35.8 percent, when compared with 2008.
