Price rules over Asian ACN markets

05 Dec '05
1 min read

Markets are witnessing a stalemate as Acrylonitrile (ACN) buyers and sellers remain firm holding their own on price front.

Defiant Asian buyers are unrelenting to take sellers offer at the US $1500/mt CFR Asia mark, reasoning they are unable to meet their target prices.

Downstream manufacturers are unwilling to accept the prices on grounds that finished goods buyers may find their products costly.

Meanwhile, downstream demand in Asia is yet to show any signs of recovery while upstream propylene prices have shown steady downward correction. Besides, bids in Asia for acrylic fiber are also diminishing
