Joveth Zaji Longo, the Chairman of the National Association Council of Baixa de Cassanje in the northern province of Malanje, urged for resuming the cotton production in the province in order to give a boost to the process of sustainable development that has been initiated in the region.
Joveth Longo made this appeal while he took part in the inauguration of the national head office of the association.
He further added that the office will help the association to associate itself with the Government of Angola in safeguarding as well as promoting the rights of the rural people who are engaged in cotton production.
At present, the association has 32,000 members inhabiting about 18 provinces of the country.
