Jute Diversification Promotion Centre (JDPC) has organized a ten-day fair of diversified jute products at Bangladesh Shishu Academy premises, on December 6, 2005.
Shahjahan Siraj, Textiles and Jute Minister inaugurated this fair as the chief guest. The fair will remain open till December 16 for all.
This is for the second year that JDPC to organize fair in association with Ministry of Textiles and Jute.
Fair will educate and inspire common man to use eco-friendly and recyclable jute items for diverse uses in day-to-day life instead of using artificial fibre-made products, which pose great threat for environment.
It also aims to popularize and ensure various uses of jute and displays new jute items among the potential buyers.
This year, 80 stalls have been put up featuring a spectrum of colours and designs for various uses, said JDPC Executive Director ABM Abdullah.
Ornaments made of jute sticks will be the major attraction at the fair; slipper, different kinds of hand-made paper products, visiting card, invitation card and polythene-substitute jute bags will capture the imagination of all.
