Vietnam is likely to export goods worth US $4.5 billion to Japan by end, this year.

Vietnamese Commercial Office in Japan reports that this is an 18 percent increase over last year, and also about 14.5 percent of country's total income.

Japan is a strong importer of not only crude oil and minerals, but also other Vietnamese products that include textiles and garments, furniture and footwear.

To increase the potential growth avenues for Viet Nam's flower exports, a Japanese mission, including representatives from over 200 businesses, was sent to Viet Nam during the currently on-going Da Lat Flower Festival.

Vietnam's flower export constitutes 1.4 percent of Japan's total flower imports while the export turnover is pegged at $6.2 million.

There is a growing interest in Japan for furniture from Vietnam. Furniture exports earned about $127 million.

Attraction towards Vietnamese products in Japan is on the rise.
Vietnamese Trade Ministry and the Japan External Trade Organisation have teamed up to organize a trade promotion programme, focusing on marketing assistance, pattern design and sales technique consultancy for Vietnamese exporters, especially the handicraft sector.
