OrganoClick has entered into a collaboration agreement with interior design company, Baux, to develop new interior design products based on OrganoClick’s biocomposite material, OrganoComp. The collaboration aims to launch the first product in the beginning of 2019. OrganoClick develops functional materials based on environmentally friendly fibre chemistry.

Baux has experienced rapid growth for several years, thanks to their innovative, designed acoustic products used in offices and public spaces worldwide. Their current products are mainly made from the composite material Träullit based on wood fibres, water and cement. Now Baux will continue to strengthen its sustainability profile further by developing a new range of innovative products within interior design based on OrganoClick’s biocomposite OrganoComp. The company currently sells its products through a global network of sales agents to customers such as Google, Boston Consulting Group, Stella McCartney, and WeWork.

Sustainable interior design products suit very well with OrganoClick’s 100 per cent bio-based biocomposite, OrganoComp, as it can replace fossil-based plastics and non-sustainable formaldehyde adhesives. Baux and OrganoClick have since one year collaborated to adapt OrganoComp for Baux products.

Mårten Hellberg, CEO OrganoClick AB said, “OrganoClick has worked strategically with adapting its materials to be suitable for interior design applications and we are very happy for the collaboration with Baux. Baux has been an important player for us in specifying the requirements and also to verify that we fulfil their requirements. We are now looking forward to developing and launching some great interior design products together with Baux.”

Fredrik Franzon, CEO Baux AB said, “We work hard to find innovative solutions and new products that offer our customers the opportunity to replace fossil-based chemistry. With OrganoComp, we have found an exciting sustainable material that fulfils our requirements for tomorrow’s safety and environmental standards.” (GK)
