Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD), functioning under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Government of Philippines, has prepared a five-year roadmap for strengthening the country's textile industry. The roadmap aims for a robust, sustainable, and profitable industry.
The 'Science and Techonology (S&T) Roadmap for Textile' is for a five-year period from 2016 to 2020. It aims for making the Philippine textile industry culture-sensitive, sustainable, robust and profitable based on Filipino knowledge using locally available raw material.
The roadmap was presented recently by DOST-PCIEERD executive director Dr. Carlos Primo David at the DOST Executive Lounge in Taguig City.
