A delegation of textile entrepreneurs from Rajasthan’s Pali district recently discussed with state chief minister Ashok Gehlot various problems related to water pollution by industrial units and its treatment. Gehlot assured them that the state is working on a permanent solution to combat water pollution in the textile zone in Jodhpur, Pali and Balotra.

In compliance with instructions given by the National Green Tribunal from time to time, the state government is upgrading the existing common effluent treatment plants (CETP), a news agency quoted the chief minister as saying.

The state is also working with the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation and the State Pollution Control Board to establish new CETPs. (DS)
