The meeting was presided over by committee chairman Mirza Azam. Members of the committee include textiles and jute minister Golam Dastagir Gazi.

A committee has been formed by the secretary of the ministry to expedite land acquisition process for setting up the Sheikh Hasina Tant Palli (first phase) project in Shibchar sub-district of Madaripur and the Sheikh Hasina Textile College, Bangla media reported citing a press release from the parliament secretariat.

Both projects will be implemented under supervision of the Bangladesh Army with suggestions of the standing committee. (DS)
