Swissmem, the association for Switzerland's mechanical and electrical engineering industries and related technology-oriented sectors, has successfully hosted the Pre-ITMA Press Conference, organised in Kursaal Bern, Switzerland, from March 16-18, 2023. An informal meeting and dinner of all attendees on the first day of the conference was followed by two days of intensive presentations by Swiss textile companies.

On March 17, the second day of the conference, Suarer, Steiger Participations, Autefa Solutions and Swinsol conducted the first round of presentations, while Santex Rimar, Jakob Müller, Crealet, Itema (Switzerland), and Stäubli Sargans conducted the second round of presentations. Both rounds were followed by panel discussions.

Companies like Uster Technologies, Rieter, Rieter Components (including Bräcker, Graf, SSM), Luwa, and Retech participated in the third round of presentations and a panel discussion on day 3 on March 18. Additionally, companies like Heberlein, Loepfe, Benninger, and Bluesign participated in the fourth round of presentations, which was also followed by a panel discussion with the speakers.

A Presentation of Texcircle Project was the final presentation of the Pre-ITMA Press Conference.

The world’s largest international textile and garment technology exhibition, ITMA highlights innovations that will help textile and garment manufacturers transform and grow their business. This year, ITMA will be held from June 8-14 in Milan, Italy.

Explaining the importance of ITMA for Swiss textile companies, Cornelia Buchwalder, secretary general of the Swiss Textile Machinery Association, said: “ITMA is vitally important, and a major element in the overall development of the industry worldwide. The 2023 ITMA is fully booked – clear evidence of its continued appeal as the essential marked place for textile machinery. And its importance is underlined by the participation of more than 50 Swiss exhibitors, most of which are members of the Textile Machinery Association. We will be there in Milan, because we know it’s the perfect opportunity to show the world what we offer.”
