Telangana has invited South Korean investors to the Kakatiya textiles park in Warangal. At a recent meeting in Hyderabad with representatives of the Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI), the state’s industries minister KT Rama Rao explained the benefits of setting up units in the upcoming park and urged KOFOTI to be the anchor investor.

Hinting at the possibility of allocating a certain portion of land for Korean companies, Rao said both national and international textile companies will operate at the park spread over 2,000 acres. Customised facilities for investors and a training centre for cultivating skilled manpower are also in the offing, according to media reports.

KOFOTI chairman and Youngone Corporation chief Kihak Sung sought details on the logistics facilities around the park and was assured that the state will pursue with the central government for making the airstrip in Warangal operational.

The delegation, which was on a two-day visit to Telangana, also visited the existing textile units in the state. (DS)
