The Textile and Apparel SEA-Cambodia Summit 2024 (CTAS2024), held in Phnom Penh on March 14-15, concluded successfully, setting a new benchmark for industry collaboration and innovation in Southeast Asia. As Cambodia unveils a pioneering roadmap to revitalise its textile and apparel sector, the summit emerged as a crucial platform for stakeholders to align on the future of this vital industry.

Fibre2Fashion was the knowledge partner of the event. As one of the virtual speakers, Dr Paramananda Nayak, Chief - Market Research - Market Intelligence at Fibre2Fashion, offered a deep dive into the 'Dynamics of Textile & Apparel Sourcing in Asia Pacific'. His expert analysis provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the region's sourcing landscape.

The event, attended by industry leaders, policymakers, and experts from across the globe, delved into the heart of Cambodia's textile industry—a sector that remarkably contributes over a third to the nation's GDP and represents 57 per cent of its total exports. With the industry's value reaching $12.6 billion in 2022, marking a 14.9 per cent increase from the previous year, the summit provided a timely forum to discuss strategies for sustainable growth and higher-value production, organisers GodiAsia and the Textile, Apparel, Footwear, and Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC) said.

Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions on an array of pivotal themes such as Policy, Current Situation and Opportunities; Sourcing Strategy and Supply Chain Digitization; Local Factories, Labors & Technology Upgrade; and Sustainable Development & Circular Textiles Value Chain.
