Top Pakistani official assures textile sector modernisation

The Pakistani Government will ensure technological upgradation of the textile industry, textile secretary Hassan Iqbal told a recent meeting held at the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) House in Sialkot. He announced a 2 per cent cash bonus for exporters who develop new products for global markets.
Urging exporters to improve the quality of their export products, Iqbal said the government is encouraging both domestic and foreign investors to establish new industries in the country by taking advantage of all government benefits and incentives, according to Pakistani media reports. (DS)
