Turkiye's overall export volume index rises by 15.8% YoY in May 2023

Turkiye's overall export volume index rose by 15.8 per cent year on year (YoY) during May, while the overall import volume index increased by 32.7 per cent YoY.
The country's overall export unit value index decreased by 1.2 per cent YoY in the month, while the overall import unit value index decreased by 13 per cent YoY, government statistics show.

Turkiye’s overall export unit value index decreased by 1.2 per cent year on year (YoY) in May, while the overall export volume index rose by 15.8 per cent YoY during the month. The overall import unit value index decreased by 13 per cent YoY in the month, while the overall import volume index increased by 32.7 per cent YoY.

The export unit value index for manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 2.5 per cent YoY in the month, and those for crude materials (except fuels) and fuels decreased by 11.8 per cent YoY and 38.2 per cent YoY respectively, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute.

The export volume index for manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 13.4 per cent YoY.

The import unit value index for manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) decreased by 7.1 per cent YoY during the month. The import volume index for manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 38.6 per cent YoY.

The calendar- and seasonally-adjusted export volume index, which was 144.8 in April this year, decreased by 1.2 per cent to 143.0 in May.

The calendar- and seasonally-adjusted import volume index, which was 133.2 in April, increased by 0.3 per cent to 133.6 in May.
