It invested $2 billion in Laos and $1.7 billion in Cambodia, according to figures released at the 13th meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee on Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Development Triangle Area, held yesterday in Attapeu, Laos.
Established in 1999, the CLV Development Triangle Area covers 144,600 sq km spread across 13 provinces in the three countries—four in Laos, four in Cambodia and five in Vietnam.
The localities of Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Nong and Binh Phuoc in Vietnam—located in the Development Triangle Area—attracted 521 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects worth over $6 billion.
These five localities have so far invested in 41 projects in the zone in Laos and Cambodia, with a total registered capital of $1.65 billion, a Vietnamese media outlet reported.
