Vietnam's consumer price index (CPI) saw a month-on-month increase of 0.88 per cent in August 2023, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO). The CPI grew by 3.1 per cent during the first eight months of the year, when compared to the same period in 2022. Meanwhile, core inflation surged by 4.57 per cent.Out of the 11 categories of goods and services that contribute to the CPI calculation, 10 witnessed a price increase compared to last month.
Notably, electricity costs experienced a significant rise, jumping by 3.99 per cent year-on-year.
