"Mandawewala has been re-appointed by the approval of the board for next five years with effect from April 1 2017, condition to approval by the company members," Welspun India said in a BSE filing.
A qualified chartered accountant, Mandawewala, has been associated with the firm since its inception. Mandawewala is associated with leading business councils such as Confederation of Indian Industry, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, IMC, BCC, Texprocil and Federation of Indian Export Organizations.
Mandawewala is also the co-promoter of Welspun India that is aiming for 25 per cent share in sales to come from its domestic home textiles business by 2020 as against the current 5 per cent, driven by product innovation, organic and inorganic growth.
Today, Welspun India is the largest producer of terry towels in Asia and the second largest home textile company in the world. (RR)
