Linentracker manufactures linen with RFID laundry tags

As part of their cost saving linen tracking system, Linen Technology Tracking, LLC. announces the addition of high quality linen products complete with RFID linentracker smart tags.

Manufacturing the hotel linens will enable the company to embed their RFID tags at the factory level, thus enhancing their turnkey solution. “We are currently working with the finest mills around the world to produce high quality linen that will withstand the rigors of the hotel environment,” said William Serbin, Executive Vice President. Linentracker products will exceed traditional linen life cycles as properties will now have the ability to monitor wash counts and as a result operate with reduced par levels.

In an effort to further develop the technology, Vice President, Sourcing Operations, Jonathan Eisenberg, has ordered pre-trial testing on an experimental tag that has been touted to survive within the harshest of laundry environments; those that operate using tunnel washer/extractor machines. "The diaphragm mechanism within the extraction unit operates at over 35 bars of pressure and has been the source for all tag failures in the past," he said.

Magic Laundry Services in Montebello California was chosen to handle the testing of these new tags. Their Operations Manager stated the linentracker laundry tag is the first he has ever seen to go beyond 30 cycles in the extractors: “I think they're onto something big here." Test results have proven successful up to 200 cycles with read ranges from 8 to 10 feet.
