Textiles sector raises Industrial Profits, Jan to Nov 2005

National Bureau of Statistics of China released the Industrial Profits results from January to November for 2005.

From January to November, the total volume of profits made by industrial enterprises above designated size (All state-owned enterprises and those non-state-owned enterprises with an annual sales income over 5 million yuan, same as follow) stood at 1,246.4 billion yuan, up by 20.1 percent as compared with the same period of previous year (same as follows, if not specifically mentioned).

Comprehensive Industrial Benefit Index during the same period was 173.61, increased 10.70 percentage points.

Of the total, the state-owned and state-controlled enterprises achieved a total volume of profits of 579.1 billion yuan, a rise of 14.8 percent; that of collective enterprises was 46.9 billion yuan, up by 31.5 percent; that of share-holding enterprises reached 647.2 billion yuan, up by 26.4 percent; that of enterprises invested by foreign merchant, or merchants from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan stood at 346.6 billion yuan, up by 5.3 percent; and that of private enterprises was 159.8 billion yuan, up by 42.4 percent.

Within 39 branches of industry, the profit growth of coal, petroleum, ferrous metals, nonferrous metals and nonmetals was up by 74.3 percent, 69.2 percent, 37.5 percent, 109.5 percent and 86.7 percent respectively; that of steel sector was up by 3.9 percent, that of chemistry industry was up by 8.6 percent.

The transport equipment manufacturing was down by 20.2 percent; that of chemical fiber manufacturing was down by 29.3 percent.
