Indian cotton arrivals dip on hopes of price rise

KARNATAKA:

Kappas arrivals are very poor in this region. Good quality 30mm bunny was sold at Rs.40,500/-Spot per candy at centres like Hubli and Raichur while 29mm good quality Bunny was transacted at Rs.39,500/- Spot.Dch-32 was being quoted at Rs.49,500/-Spot. Jaydhar kappas has started arriving in North Karnataka at centres surrounding Hubli at stations like Gadag,Annigiri,Kundagol,etc and crop may be approximately 25,000 bales. Price quoted for Jayadhar cotton is Rs.33,000/-Spot per candy.

TAMILNADU:

Dch-32 Cotton has started arriving at centres like Uthangarai, Madapally, Tirupattur, Konganapuram. There is 15% mixture of Surabhi cotton in the present Dch-32 arrivals and cotton is sold at Rs.51,000/-Spot per candy. The Dch-32 crop size is expected to be approximately 50,000 bales.

INTERNATIONAL:

The New York Futures for May has firmed up to 92cents per lbs. The cotlook index has touched 102 cents per lbs. China has allowed its textile industry to import cotton and Yarn.
