According to provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office, turnover in retail trade in Germany in January 2006 was in nominal terms 2.2% and in real terms 1.7% larger than that of the corresponding month of the previous year.
The number of days open for sale was 26 in January 2006 and 25 in January 2005.
When adjusted for calendar and seasonal variations (CENSUS-X-12-ARIMA), the January 2006 turnover was in nominal terms 2.6% and in real terms 2.7% larger than that of the preceding month.
