British Retail Consortium has issued warning to shoppers that they will face price increases if the European protectionist lobby wins its fight for tariffs on certain Chinese imports.
The battle for cheap shoe imports has already been lost - a 19% duty was agreed this week - but other goods, from jeans to household goods could also be affected.
Date & Venue: Friday 24 March, 1pm-2pm, Cardinal Place SW1 (shopping mall just off Victoria St)
What will happen? Lunchtime shoppers will be given a leaflet from the 'How Much?!' campaign.
Shoppers will be encouraged to send a message asking Peter Mandelson, Europe's Trade Commissioner, to stand up for the consumer and say no to unfair import duties on Chinese goods.
Interview Opportunities: Alisdair Gray, the British Retail Consortium's Brussels Director will be attending the event
