World Trade Organisation announces that the Director-General Pascal Lamy, in his introductory statement to the Trade Negotiations Committee on 28 March 2006, reminded members of the end-April deadline for establishing modalities in agriculture and industrial products, and stressed that “the moment of truth is therefore fast approaching — we do not have time to waste”.
The World Trade Organization (WTO) is the only global international organization dealing with the rules of trade between nations.
At its heart are the WTO agreements, negotiated and signed by the bulk of the world's trading nations and ratified in their parliaments. The goal is to help producers of goods and services, exporters, and importers conduct their business.
