Federal Statistical Office of Germany reported that commodities to the value of EUR 4.2 billion were exported from Germany to India in 2005.
Compared with the previous year, German exports to that country rose 27.7 percent.
Thus the positive trend for exports to the Indian subcontinent continued in 2005, too. Since 2000, German exports to India even doubled. As in 2004, machinery and chemical products were by far the most important goods exported.
Their share in total exports to India was 33.8 percent (EUR 1.4 billion) and 15.4 percent (EUR 649 million), respectively.
