The Synthetic Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) is organising Participation of members in the forth coming ROMANIAFABRICDAYS, an international Fair for Fabrics, Accessories & Services for the Garment Industry, to be held in Bucharest, Romania on 19-21 October 2006. The exhibition will provide new opportunities to explore and consolidate our export base in this prospective market.
The participants can avail of the financial subsidy of Rs 80,000/- towards reimbursement of the participation fee from the MDA Scheme. Details of the eligibility criteria under the MDA scheme can be had from the Council on request.
Market potential Romania is 3rd largest exporter of clothing to EU with more than 3,500 Garment companies and an export of Euro 3.84 Billion during the year 2004. Romania is one of the significantly growing markets for MMF textiles from India. The exports of MMF textiles to Romania were to the tune of Rs. 17.11 crores during the year 2004-05 accounting for a growth of more than 500 percent as compared to last year.
Presently the main items of export consist of Polyester Filament and spun yarn and PV fabrics. There is great scope to increase our exports to this market considering their dependence on imports to meet their growing requirements for conversion.
Romania enjoys duty free movement of goods and services within a market of 550 million consumers comprising of EU, EFTA, CEFTA, Turkey, Macedonia, Croatia, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Albania. Romania will join the EU as full fledged member from 1st January 2007.
