WTO is investigating the US to confirm that no illegal subsidies are being provided to the cotton farmers.
In case the US is found and proved guilty, Brazil will be eligible to demand disciplinary permit against American imports.
Clodoaldo Hugueney, Ambassador, Brazil, said, “With respect to some of the ... recommendations and rulings, the US has adopted no implementation measures at all. The implementation measures it has adopted fall far short of compliance."
However, the US hit back by claiming that the allegations were unfounded and that they had taken aggressive measures to implement recommendations and rulings.
