Macao's total value of imports in 2006 grew 16.6% year-on-year, mainly due to increases in import values of, by broad economic categories, Fuels & lubricants (+31.5%), Consumer goods (+18.5%), Raw materials & semi-manufactures (+13.9%) and Capital goods (+9.4%).
In addition, Macao's main suppliers of imported goods still concentrated in the Asian region. Imports from Mainland China and Hong Kong, which together constituted 55.3% of the total import value, rose 21.9% and 19.1% respectively compared with 2005.
