Global Forum on IPR to be held in Beijing

U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Thomas J. Donohue, will hold a press briefing to outline the Chamber's views on trade, innovation, and intellectual property rights prior to his upcoming visit to China and the Global Forum on Intellectual Property (IPR) Protection and Innovation to be held in Beijing, March 27-28.

The first conference of its kind, the Global Forum will be hosted by the Chamber and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and will include business leaders, government officials, and trade association representatives from around the world, including China, the EU, Hong Kong, Japan, India, Korea, and Singapore.

IPR protection is a huge challenge facing the global community. The forum in China represents a historic step in bringing together opinionleaders from around the world to discuss the importance of IP in driving innovation and creating jobs. Strong IPR protection and enforcement is essential prerequisite for a fostering innovation and creating safe and robust global economy.
