The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) announces that beginning on August 1, 2007, nominations will be accepted for the J. Shipman Gold Medal Award. The J. Shipman Gold Medal Award is presented annually to those individuals whose persistent efforts have aided the advancement of supply management.
Johnson Shipman was a pioneer member of the New York affiliate of the National Association of Purchasing Agents, well-known for giving liberally of his time and counsel. The award was established in 1931 to commemorate the contributions of Shipman, a man known for his vision, intellect and influence on important issues.
The award is presented to those individuals whose modest, unselfish, sincere and persistent efforts have aided the advancement of the supply management field. Those chosen for the award have also assisted and guided members of the supply management profession in their endeavors.
