Certifiers Working Session, October 30:
This working session for certifiers will review the two OE standards (OE Blended and the soon to be released OE 100) and how to become a licensed certifier for these standards. Will take a look at the OE Labeling Guide and brainstorm on what should be included in our upcoming Certification Guide. Finally we will discuss the challenges to certification and how our tool, the On-line Tracking Service, might be useful for certifiers. This event is by invitation only; if you are interested in participating please email Terry Young.

5th Annual 2006 Conference and Marketplace, October 31 and November 1:
The annual conference in 2007 will focus on sustaining the industry's ability to foster and commercialize innovations in products, processes and business practices by looking at different models of collaboration and partnership. We believe sustainable innovation is critical to being successful in the next stages of the development of the organic fiber industry. Sustainable innovation requires new ways of thinking about growth and profitability, best supported by commitment and collaboration among key stakeholders.

We also need new ways of thinking about cultivating growth – how do our organizations mature in a sustainable manner? We need new ways of thinking about profitability – how do we collectively redefine it as prosperity, the condition of enjoying great wealth, success, or good fortune, regardless of where you are in the organic cotton supply chain? It's our promise you'll leave the conference understanding this title and these themes in a new way.

The Organic Cotton Marketplace will be held during the Annual Conference. Companies from across the supply chain can display their products made from certified organic fiber on table top displays with other display equipment provided. The Marketplace will open prior to the Conference each morning and will remain open throughout the day.

Post Conference Opportunities:
Organic Cotton Farm Tour or Retail Tour of San Francisco, November 2nd:
Join us for either a tour of an organic cotton farm and gin or of retail stores in San Francisco. The farm trip will provide a hands-on experience of organic farming and a look at the processing of seed cotton into fiber. The tour of retailers in San Francisco gives an opportunity to see organic cotton products in the marketplace.
