'The Link with India' for Nonwoven technical textiles

The USA based Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry popularly known as INDA will be organizing its first in Asia international conference, “The Link with India” in Mumbai at Renaissance Hotel from October 16-18, 2007. Nonwoven technical textiles is a growth segment and is growing globally over 6% per annum.

Its potential is yet to be fully realized in India. India offers enormous growth potential in this segment of the textile industry. The annual growth is expected to be over 8%. With middle class population in India growing exponentially, there is need for many consumer goods such as wipes, which are nonwoven textiles.

INDA has over 300 member companies and many of them are Fortune 500 companies such as Procter & Gamble, Kimberly–Clark and 3M. INDA will provide a platform in Mumbai for these companies to network with the Indian textile and manufacturing industry. The conference has technical sessions, which will discuss geotextiles, automobile textiles, panel on R&D, business opportunities, etc.

Honourable Shri. Shankarsinh Vaghela Central Minister of Textiles, Government of India will be the Chief Guest and will inaugurate the international conference and deliver the Chief Guest's speech. Shri. E. V. K . S. Elangovan, Minister of State for Textiles, Government of India will participate in the inaugural function and deliver the inaugural address Shri. Bhupendra Singh, Joint Secretary, Minister of Textiles will be the Guest of Honor.

Mr. Rory Holmes, President of INDA, USA will deliver the presidential address. Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar, INDA-India Committee Co-chairman will deliver an address on the potential of nonwoven industry in India and INDA-India activities in India. Mr. Mallyah, INDA-India, Secretary and Mr. Mark Snider, Chairman INDA-India Committee will participate in the inaugural ceremony.
