'AADISHILP' - 3rd National Tribal Craft Expo, Nov 6-9

National Tribal Craft Expo – AADISHILP will organize by TRIFED from November 6-9, 2007.
'Aadishilp'- The first National Tribal Craft Expo was organised during January, 2006 by Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd. (TRIFED) – an organisation under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
The main objective of TRIFED is marketing development of tribal products for which it has initiated a number of marketing development efforts & Aadishilp- National Tribal Craft Expo, is one such example.
The first Aadishilp was organised on a small scale however, the overwhelming response received by the tribal artisans from the public encouraged us to organise the event annually. The second Aadishilp was organized in August, 2006 and the third Aadishilp now is the next step of this initiative.
The idea behind organising such Expo is to provide a platform for tribal artisans to showcase their rich and ethnic art and craft. Tribal artisans from all over the country brings their beautiful creations in Metal, Terracotta, Textile, Bamboo, Jewellery, Forest products etc.
This Expo is an effort not only to promote the tribal products but also to provide opportunities to tribal artisans to interact with the discerning urban customers to understand their preferences, tastes etc and adapt their products accordingly.
It is a very thrilling, enlightening and educative experience to watch the deft fingers at work and live creation of the exquisite articles. Artisans from all the predominantly tribal States will be participating in this Expo.
The Third Aadishilp TRIFED is an attempt at presenting a holistic picture of tribal culture and heritage in all its vibrance and colour.
It is not only showcasing tribal crafts but also presenting tribal dances, which have been brought to the capital for the first time.
