The National Australian Cotton Trade Show, which is scheduled in last week of May each year, will miss out in 2008, an official from the Show confirmed this to Fibre2fashion.
According to the official, meager rain, low irrigation allocation leading to less cotton plantations acreage and draught situation are responsible for the cancellation of this show.
The two-day event at Moree would have celebrated its 11th anniversary on May 30 and 31, 2008, however, the decision to drop out the show next year was taken by the organizers. This would allow farmers and potential exhibitors to focus on strengthening their businesses at these challenging times.
