Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) has requested the ministry of commerce to expand research and development support to garment exports to Turkey and other non-traditional markets and to facilitate exporters in securing new opportunities.
Chairman of the PRGMEA South Zone, Atiq A Kochra, said that Turkey was the only country not mentioned in the research and development (R&D) support scheme.
Since the upcountry exporters could not keep the time limit, time for registering R&D support claims should be extended from 30 to 60 days, he added.
