Central Statistics Office Ireland released Wholesale price index of October 2005.
Annual Manufacturing Prices up 0.9 percent in October Factory gate prices increased by 0.3 percent in October 2005.
This compares to a decrease of 0.8 percent recorded for October of last year.
As a result, the annual percentage change showed an increase of 0.9 percent in October 2005, which compares to a decrease of 0.2 percent in September 2005.
In the month, the index for export sales increased by 0.3 percent while the index for home sales increased by 0.4 percent.
In the year there was an increase in export sales of 0.6 percent and an increase in home sales of 2.5 percent.
In the month the most significant changes were increases in Basic chemicals (+0.8 percent) while there were decreases in Office machinery and computers (-0.9 percent) and Fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (-0.3 percent).
Contributing to the annual change were decreases in Office machinery and computers (-7.8 percent) and Radio, television and communication equipment (-1.8 percent), while there was an increase in Pharmaceuticals and other chemical products (incl. Man-made fibres) (+10.4 percent) and Medical, precision and optical instruments, watches and clocks (+12.6 percent)
The yearly price index for Mining and quarrying increased by 19.3 percent while there was a monthly increase of 5.7 percent.
