On Friday 10th December 2010, Mr Alberto PACCANELLI was nominated unanimously President of Euratex by the General Assembly of EURATEX, the European Apparel and Textile Confederation, for a two year term of office for the period 2011-2012.
Mr PACCANELLI, who will succeed Dr. PFNEISL as of January 1st 2011 until end 2012, is 50, co-owner of MARTINELLI GINETTO GROUP of Bergamo, a Group of companies specialized in the production and distribution of high-end bed linen and home textile products.
Just after the election, Mr PACCANELLI said: “I am honoured by this nomination and the confidence the entire European Textile and Clothing Industry has placed on my shoulders. Together with the team that I will build, I am intending to strengthen the role of EURATEX at European level and across the industry for the benefit of this resilient and forward looking industry able to provide myriad of flexible solutions to our daily life.”
Dr PFNEISL, outgoing President of Euratex, stated “I am pleased for the nomination of Mr Paccanelli as my successor. I wish him a lot of success in his new responsibilities despite the difficult times the industry is facing and the need for strengthening the role of manufacturing at European level”.
Mr PACCANELLI has an extensive international experienced both in consulting business and in the textile industry. He was C.E.O of the Linificio and Canapificio Group, part of the Marzotto Group from 2000 to 2007. Since 2007 he is C.E.O. and shareholder of Martinelli Ginetto Group.
