Central Statistics Office Ireland released Seasonally adjusted exports for October 2005 (preliminary) decreased by 4 percent to €7,056m relative to September 2005 while imports increased slightly to €4,706m.
Exports for September decreased by 4 percent to €7,360m and imports increased marginally to €4,697m relative to August 2005.
Year on year, the monthly unadjusted exports increased by €337m (+5 percent) in October 2005 (preliminary) to reach €7,044m while September increased by €601m (+8 percent) to €7,890m. Imports for October, on the same basis, increased by €207m (+5 percent) to €4,726m while September increased by €214m (+5 percent) to €4,527m.

Exports increased from €62,993m to €64,756m (+3 percent) –
Organic chemicals increased from €11,367m to €12,871m (+13 percent), Essential oils (including flavouring materials) from €3,538m to €4,033m (+14 percent) and Petroleum and related materials from €242m to €393m (+62 percent).
Medical and pharmaceutical products decreased from €11,414m to €11,233m (-2 percent).
Goods to France increased from €3,650m to €4,127m (+13 percent), to Spain from €1,758m to €2,178m (+24 percent) and to Switzerland from €2,145m to €2,467m (+15 percent).
