On 19th May ASDA announced, all its 278 health and beauty departments would receive a multi-million pound makeover.
The £7m facelift, which will turn up the heat on its high-street rival, sees the addition of over a thousand new products including designer hair care, premium skincare, indulgent bath and body products, extended fragrance ranges and electrical beauty products. The move also follows a £12.6m year-to-date investment in price.
The new departments will use specially designed state-of the-art shelving, graphics and lighting to display the extended ranges to best effect and make shopping in this area of the store even easier than before.
In addition customers will be able to see a much increased range with over 1000 new products on offer many developed especially for the ASDA brand.
The recently launched ASDA Essential Care range of treatments is one such example. Essential Care uses special spring water, Maris Aqua, which was developed by Christian Dior. Essential Care promises similar results but without the designer price tag.
ASDA has also recruited a whole new team especially to concentrate on the health and beauty sector. In total seven new colleagues have joined recently to concentrate on everything from customer planning through to buying and marketing.
“This investment is a further illustration of our commitment to this area of tf the business. Customers over the coming months can look forward to even more great new health and beauty products and even more great low prices, said David Miles, ASDA's health and beauty director.
