Century Textiles posts net profit of Rs. 221.3 mn in FY'12

Century Textiles & Industries Ltd has announced the following results for the quarter & year ended March 31, 2012.
The Company has posted a net loss of Rs. (238.90) million for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 as compared to net profit of Rs. 496.50 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2011. Total Income has decreased from Rs. 13683.50 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 to Rs. 13120.80 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2012.
The Company has posted a net profit of Rs. 221.30 million for the year ended March 31, 2012 as compared to Rs. 2374.90 million for the year ended March 31, 2011. Total Income has increased from Rs. 48020.70 million for the year ended March 31, 2011 to Rs. 48999.60 million for the year ended March 31, 2012.
Century Textiles and Industries Limited was incorporated in 1897 as a Public Limited Company with its Registered Office at Mumbai. Till 1951, the Company operated only one cotton textile mill at Mumbai. Thereafter, the Company has made rapid progress in expanding and diversifying its activities. At present, it is a trendsetter in cotton textiles and also has a remarkable presence in the yarn, denim, viscose filament rayon yarn, tyrecords, caustic soda, sulphuric acid, salt, cement, and pulp and paper industries.
