Banswara Syntex (BSL) plans to set up a trouser- manufacturing unit and an 18 MW captive power plant.
Investment for the expansion program will total up to Rs88 crore while the power plant will be operational by March 2007.
Production of trousers will go up to 2.25 lakh trousers per month by September 2006.
R L Toshniwal, Chairman, informed that the capex of Rs 42 crore has been earmarked for setting up the coal-lignite-based power plant at Banswara, Rajasthan.
The new plant is expected to fulfill their demand of 12MW and any additional power generated will be sold, he informed.
A trouser plant in Daman will produce 75000 pieces per month with an investment of Rs6 crore while another Rs10 crore unit will be developed at Surat SEZ.
Company is also planning a modernization-and-expansion drive at its process house in Banswara, which produces polyester viscose, polyester wool and cotton.
BSL will add about 12000 more spindles to the present capacity of 100,000 and 24 looms.
